Built in 1910, this Colonial Revival carries a quiet, stately presence — a sweeping staircase connects the home's grand social rooms, while period molding, high ceilings, and abundant windows frame unparalleled eastern views. We were brought in after the interior renovation was complete, tasked with bringing warmth and layers to spaces that already had architectural weight to spare.

The clients wanted a British townhouse sensibility — tailored, a little moody, unexpected in the best way — but the real work was finding balance. This is a home for a family of three (plus one very loved dog), and it needed to live easily on an ordinary weekday as much as it needed to rise to the occasion for entertaining. Grand rooms were grounded with comfortable, durable furnishings; formal architecture was softened with personal touches and layered textiles, so the house reads as elevated without ever feeling like it's holding its breath.
